Reasons not to be sad that summer is ending

1.) No more gross humid weather. I don’t know about you, but I hate when it’s 90 degrees out and the humidity hits my face making my entire body all sticky. You don’t want to leave the air-conditioned office or home (if you are lucky to even have AC) and head outside for misery. What’s worse? The hair that you just spent an hour washing, conditioning, and blow drying straight literally looks like a frizzy nightmare. Fall has the perfect weather.

2.) Fall wardrobe. I love Fall clothes—boots, flats, scarves, cardigans, blazers, etc. It’s cool enough that you can layer your clothes and not sweat to death, but it’s warm enough that you don’t have to put on a million layers and look like you’re heading to the North Pole.

3.) Good TV shows are back. Summer television just isn’t the same. Currently, I’ve been watching re-runs of old shows simply because there isn’t anything on. This fall’s TV line-up looks so good! Some of my personal favorites such as “Revenge” and “New Girl” will be back with all new episodes, and there are some new shows starting that I absolutely can not wait to try. What looks good so far? “The Mindy Project” (starring Mindy Kaling from “The Office”) and “666 Park Avenue” are just a couple of shows out of the many that seem like they may be worth a shot

4.) Apples, pumpkins, and other yummy treats! Apple pie is definitely one of my favorite desserts, and while it can be cooked pretty much any time of the year since apples are available whenever you want, it’s mostly served between September-December. Apple cider and pumpkin spice lattes are some of my other favorites, and now they even have pumpkin pie ice cream which is to die for! Seriously can not wait.

5.) Football. Now I’m your typical girly girl—I barely ever watch sports nor do I really play. However, I do love watching the occasional football game or at least having the spirit about it. The SuperBowl is also really fun—good food, parties, and umm…hot boys anyone? Sporting events and parties attract the fellas. That’s all I’ll say for now.

6.) REAL holidays. Thanksgiving and Halloween both fall within a month of each other. When else in America do two really fun holidays come so close? I’m a huge fan of Thanksgiving (who doesn’t love tons of good food and family?) and Halloween is just a time to get dressed up and party. These two reasons alone make Fall a wonderful time.

So in all honesty, I’m not that bummed that summer is coming to an end. Sure I won’t be able to sit out in the sun in my shorts and tank top drinking an iced tea while getting crisp. But truthfully, that gets old after a while. I’m ready for some new activities. I think I’ll start by shopping for some new shoes and sweaters.
